As private music teachers, we set the tone for our weekly lessons.
Though this statement seems obvious, do we really think about it?
At the opening of February’s monthly meeting, a discussion was started by MLMTA member, Max Esmus, who wisely reminded us that our initial interactions with our students should encourage joy, optimism and camaraderie.
This could be something as simple as asking the question, “What fun thing did you do since our last lesson?” – or perhaps a simple activity.
We invite you to continue the discussion here by giving your thoughts on how YOU usually greet your students!
Thank you, Max, for this important, but not-very-often-addressed, topic!
